Cored wire or core wire is also known as alloy cored wire. Cored wire is made by grinding alloy materials into powder, then mixing them, and coating them with steel strips.
Cored wire is suitable for steelmaking and casting. The application in steelmaking can purify the form of steel inclusions, improve the castability of molten steel, improve the service performance of steel, significantly increase the yield of alloy, reduce alloy consumption, reduce steelmaking costs, and have significant economic benefits.
Our factory has the ability to produce multiple specifications and varieties and can meet various technical requirements of users. At present, it has passed the industrial test in many iron and steel enterprises in the country, and has the advantages of uniform powder feeding, regular geometric size and low line breaking rate
Core-covered wires are often packaged in steel cages and horizontally packaged. There are two packing methods: inside tap type and outside put type. Our hot-selling alloy cored wire mainly includes calcium silicon cored wire, calcium iron cored wire, carbon cored wire, etc.

Cored wire for steel making
Why do we need cored wire? Cored wire can more conveniently put metallurgical materials into the molten steel during the steelmaking process.
How to use cored wire? Vertically insert the cored wire into the molten iron or molten steel through a wire feeding machine. In the ideal depth will fully melt metallurgical materials such as cored wire and produce chemical reactions, effectively avoiding the reaction of added elements with air and slag, and improving the absorption rate of the metallurgical materials. Core-clad wire also has the functions of refining and casting to change inclusions, alloying and purifying molten steel. It plays a significant role in improving the quality of cast iron and cast steel, reducing the cost of casting and steelmaking, and improving the economic benefits of cast iron and cast steel.
- The addition of core wire in the steelmaking process can avoid long sulfide inclusions, thereby improving the castability of molten steel.
- With the help of a wire feeder, molten steel can be quickly input for dissolution. Dissolve in the depth of molten steel, reduce nozzle blockage and play the role of deoxidation, desulfurization and removal of inclusions.
- The raw materials can be fine-tuned to improve the yield of metals and rare earth elements and ensure the stability of raw materials.
- Reduce the amount of expensive elements added to reduce refining costs.

Advantages of cored wire
- Excellent electrical conductivity: The inner layer of the cored wire is made of high-purity metal material, which has good electrical conductivity and can effectively transmit signals or currents.
- Superior insulation performance: The outer layer of the cored wire is made of high-quality insulation material, which has good insulation performance and can prevent signal or current leakage.
- Compact structure: Because the inner and outer layers of materials are closely combined, the cored wire is more compact and lighter than traditional single-material conductors, and is suitable for occasions with small spaces.
- Strong corrosion resistance: The inner layer of the cored wire is made of metal material, which has strong corrosion resistance and can extend the service life when encountering humid environments or chemical corrosive substances.
- Strong anti-interference ability: Because the cored wire has good insulation properties, it can effectively prevent external electromagnetic interference and ensure stable transmission of signals or currents.
- Easy to process and install: The cored wire has a simple structure and is easy to process and install. It can be cut to length, connected or fixed in the equipment according to actual needs.

In a short, cored wire is a long wire made by crushing various additives (deoxidants, desulfurizers, modifiers, alloys, etc.) that need to be added to molten steel or molten iron into a certain particle size, and then wrapping them with cold-rolled low-carbon steel strips to make composite materials of various diameters.
- Raw material preparation
The steel strip serves as the outer sheath of the alloy cored wire and is made of cold-rolled low carbon steel. The width of the steel strip varies according to the diameter of the alloy cored wire (9-16mm). The thickness of the steel strip is generally between 0.2-1.0mm.
Inner packaging raw materials. According to the type of cored wire, the alloy raw materials that need to be coated are crushed into the required particle size. Such as calcium powder in pure calcium cored wire, calcium silicate powder in calcium silicate cored wire, carbon powder in carbon cored wire, etc. - Mixing of raw materials
The raw materials required for alloy cored wire are mixed evenly in a certain proportion. - Crimping and bite-synthetic molding
In the production process of alloy cored wire, the raw materials and steel strips are formed by curling and interlocking in the cored wire machine. - Wound into a coil
The formed alloy cored wire is wound into coils in batches to obtain the finished alloy cored wire.
